India’s consumption of finished steel products fall in April-May

According to data released by the Joint Plant Committee (JPC), India's consumption of finished steel totaled 11.7 million tons in the first two months of this year stated from April 1st, 2013, down by 0.8% year on year.

In the given period of time, the country's output of finished steel amounted to 13 million tons, rising by 3.1% year on year.

Among them, Indian Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)'s output of crude steel decreased by 3.8% year on year to 1.6 million tons. Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL)'s output increased by 4.5% to 468,000 tons and Tata Steel's output jumped by 32% to 1.2 million tons.
